Wine Making

There 6 steps to follow when making your own wine. Mixing the wine is the first step, wine concentrate is mixed with additives, juices, and yeast and placed in fermentation bucket. After primary fermentation, the wine is transferred to a glass carboy for two more weeks to complete fermentation process.

After fermenting, the wine is treated with preservatives; sweetening blends may also be added at this time. 20 days later, the wine must be racked, and polished. Bottling and corking your wine comes next, followed by the aging process, depending on the type of wine and how much you have made.

Make Your Own Wine:

  • Mix wine
  • Fermentation
  • Stabilization and clarification
  • Additional racking
  • Bottle and cork
  • Aging

Mist wines can be consumed immediately, while white wines are best if aged between 3 and 6 months. Red wines must be aged 6 to 9 months and most 23 liter/ gallon batches will produce 28-30 bottles of wine.
